To anyone considering booking a charter during the month of June, the only day still available for booking this month is the 25th. July dates are filling up fast as well, so book soon if you are interested in fishing on the Necessity this season!
Went out on a exciting 8 hour trip on the Necessity. As usual we caught a beautiful limit of red snapper. The king bite on the troll was on fire and between catching all the king we managed to keep the wahoo streak alive; we are now on 7 trips in a row with nice wahoo! We also caught vermillion snapper, white snapper, and scamp. The surprise today was a nice cobia that we caught bottom fishing.
It has been a busy few days for the Necessity, steady stream of charters and steady stream of successful days on the water. We’ve been running doubles a lot lately, catching beautiful limits of snapper and a ton of nice wahoo! We’ve also been on some deep dropping trips as well, catching a nice variety of vermillion, white snapper, scamp, snowy edge, scorpion fish, and long tail sea bass.
A message from the Capt:
Red snapper season is almost halfway over. The average size that we are catching is amazing! I have a few half days still open and a couple of full days. Do not miss out on 2013 red snapper fishing!!! I have to say this; in my 40 plus years as a professional fishermen, I have never seen red snapper fishing this good! Even as painful as short seasons and strict bag limits have been you can’t deny the results? Thank you NMFS! Now since we have rebuilt the red snapper stock together let’s work on a new modern flexible, accountable FMP? — Capt. Ben Fairey
